IN CONGRESS

The House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy and Power is scheduled to hold a hearing next week on the impact on states of the Environmental Protection Agency’s proposed carbon emissions standards for existing coal-fired power plants. The hearing will be held Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. in Room 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building and will feature testimony by state regulators, according to a committee press release. The proposed regulations in question would set emissions reductions targets for each state and require the states to submit action plans to meet those targets.
