Perma-Fix Environmental Services announced this week that it has received a contract from Kemron Environmental Services to help in the cleanup of the Safety Light Superfund Site, located in South Centre Township, Pa. The contract, valued at more than $500,000, calls for Perma-Fix “to provide radiation safety, waste characterization, and brokerage services” at the site over a six-month timeframe, according to Perma-Fix. “We look forward to working closely with Kemron to advance the cleanup of this EPA Region III Superfund site and expect to commence operations this month,” Perma-Fix CEO Louis Centofanti said in a release. “We are honored to be a part of this important mission by utilizing our proprietary technologies and expertise to support the clean-up of another one of our nation’s Superfund sites.” Mark Shaffer will lead the Perma-Fix team at the site.
