Congress wrapped up work on the final version of the Fiscal Year 2015 defense authorization bill late last week, with the Senate approving the measure and sending it to President Obama for signature. Among the bill’s provisions is language that would create a national park comprised of sites tied to the Manhattan Project. The park will encompass facilities at Hanford, Oak Ridge and the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

The S.M. Stoller Corporation is being renamed and rebranded as Stoller Newport News Nuclear, or SN3 for short, Stoller president Nick Lombardo announced in a Dec. 15 message to employees. Stoller has operated as a subsidiary of Huntington Ingalls Industries under its Newport News Shipbuilding division since an acquisition that was wrapped up last January to help HII expand its role in the Department of Energy marketplace. The rebrand comes after Newport News members joined Stoller recently. “Formation of SN3 is a logical next step in the post-acquisition process of fully integrating our people and capabilities to achieve our business goals. Through renaming and rebranding Stoller we will accomplish several important objectives while preserving the proud heritage of both the Stoller and Newport News Nuclear companies,” Lombardo said in the message.
