IN THE NNSA

The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) held yesterday a pre-proposal conference for the Nevada National Security Site’s (NNSS) management and operating contract competition. The conference for prospective contract bidders took place at the Embassy Suites Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nev., and followed the NNSA’s Nov. 6 request for proposals for the contract. The NNSA’s current contract with site operator National Security Technologies is set to expire in September 2016. The new contract, expected to be worth $500 million-$600 million per year, will feature a five-year base period and five-year option period for work that supports the NNSA’s stockpile stewardship, nuclear nonproliferation, and recapitalization activities. Proposals are due by Dec. 22.
