Anthony Wilson has been named president of Southern Company subsidy Mississippi Power, the company announced this week. Wilson has been involved with Mississippi Power and fellow Southern Co. subsidiary Georgia Power since 1984. As of Jan. 1, 2016, Wilson will step in as CEO of Mississippi Power, relieving current Chairman and CEO Ed Holland of the position. Holland will stay on as chairman of Mississippi Power and will also become President and CEO of Southern Company Holding and executive vice president of Southern Company Services. Holland will also “have continued leadership of the completion of the Kemper County energy facility,” according to a Mississippi Power press release. The Kemper facility is a new-build coal-fired power plant located near Meridian, Miss., which will employ carbon capture and storage technology.
