BWX Technologies, a naval-nuclear reactor company that contracts for the National Nuclear Security Administration, announced Thursday that it promoted Robb LeMasters to chief financial officer and executive vice president.

“Robb has played a key role in transforming the corporation by supporting organizational development and continuous improvement,” Rex Geveden, chief executive officer, said in a company press release. “He brings uncommon vision, commitment and energy to his role, and is a strategic partner in all that we do.”

LeMasters served as senior vice president and chief financial officer from 2021 to present, and served as senior vice president and chief strategy officer prior to that position. He has a bachelor’s degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.

Howard Markle was appointed vice president and general manager of the BWX Technologies Nuclear Operations Group’s Lynchburg facility, the company said Nov. 1.

Markle now will be responsible for operations of the Lynchburg facility, a little less than 200 miles southwest by road from Washington, which makes the reactor cores for nuclear powered warships and submarines. He was previously the facility’s deputy manager.

Markle joined BWX Technologies (BWXT) in 2022, the same year he retired from the Navy as a rear admiral, according to his LinkedIn account. He served for about 35 years.

The National Nuclear Security Administration Naval Reactors Field Office announced Oct. 23 it awarded MAS Consultants & Point Six from Valrico, Fla. a contract for $243,430.40, according to an award notice posted on sam.gov.

MAS Consultants & Point Six is a disabled, veteran owned business aimed at consulting energy and government-related industries, according to the company’s website. The contract would include providing financial support and general management consulting services to the field office.
