Nuclear contractor UniTech Services Group, which provides laundry services for radioactive clothing in North America and Europe, has hired industry veteran Kevin Bumpus as business development manager for government accounts.
Bumpus has 36 years in the nuclear business, including management experience in facilities and operations, and helped support key U.S. Energy Department initiatives, the company said in a press release. Most recently, he worked as a facility manager for Tennessee-based Omega Technical Services, a provider of engineering and consulting services.
Bumpus had worked for Omega since 2015, which included postings as a facilities manager at DOE’s Oak Ridge Site in Tennessee and as a work control mentor at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant in New Mexico, according to his LinkedIn profile. He also worked as a subcontract technical representative with Savannah River Remediation, liquid waste management contractor at the DOE Savannah River Site in South Carolina.
Bumpus joined UniTech last January but only recently fully assumed the newly created role of business development for the government sector, a company spokesman said. In his new job, Bumpus will work with UniTech’s regional sales executives to expand the company’s footprint in the DOE and Department of Defense sectors, the press release says.
UniTech serves the Energy Department’s Hanford Site in Washington state as well as all U.S. national laboratories with laundry services. In addition to radioactive laundry services, it also provides protective clothing, respirators, and other gear for nuclear clients. In 2016 it added low-level and mixed low-level radioactive waste management to its portfolio.
Dallas-based Jacobs Engineering on Monday named Bill Pragada as its president and chief operating officer overseeing global operations, and it also Kevin Berryman will be appointed president and chief financial officer.
As president and COO, Pragada will still lead Jacobs’ Buildings, Infrastructure and Advanced Facilities (BIAF) business. The executive vice president and COO for Aerospace, Technology and Nuclear (ATN) business Dawne Hickton, will report to Pragada. The ATN unit includes Jacob’s Energy Department business, including subsidiary CH2M.
Berryman, who previously held the title of executive vice president and CFO, will also manage Jacobs Digital and Information Technology business.
Both moves take effect Dec. 1. The managers are not replacing anyone, said a Jacobs spokeswoman.
Pragada held several management jobs at Jacobs between 2006 and 2015. After leaving Jacobs for a year to serve as president and CEO of the Brock Group, a North American provider of industrial services, he rejoined Jacobs. Berryman joined Jacobs in 2015 as CFO, after being the chief financial officer for six years at International Flavors and Fragrances.
Jacobs is a leading engineering, construction and professional services company with a large footprint in the DOE weapons complex.
