Idaho-based Energy Department contractor North Wind Group has appointed Jim Furr as its chief information officer.
Furr will remain president of subsidiary North Wind Services, the company said in a March press release. North Wind said it is revamping information technology to support growth, data management, and cybersecurity.
Furr has been with North Wind for 12 years, serving over the past six as president of both North Wind Inc. and North Wind Services. His responsibilities have included operations of the business units across the continental United States and Alaska.
The position of North Wind Inc. president will be filled by Jeff Scott, president of North Wind-Portage.
North Wind currently has a contract to manage transuranic waste processing at the Oak Ridge Site in Tennessee, and is the lead partner in an infrastructure services contract at the Portsmouth Site in Ohio. It also has a decontamination and demolition contract for facilities at DOE’s Energy Technology Engineering Center within the Santa Susana Field Laboratory site in California.
