Longenecker & Associates’ director of technology and international programs has been promoted to the new position of vice president for corporate programs, the consulting firm and Energy Department contractor said Tuesday.
The Las Vegas-based company in 2015 hired Laurie Judd away from NuVision Engineering, where he was vice president for government programs.
Judd will retain his current responsibilities while taking on project oversight and business support activities, according to a Longenecker press release. That will include coordinating services such as human resources and information technology to employees in the field from headquarters, the company said. Judd will report to Christine Gelles, a DOE veteran who is now Longenecker’s senior vice president for operations.
“We are proud to have Laurie as part of our executive team,” CEO Bonnie Longenecker said in the release. “As our portfolio grows, so must our corporate leadership. This new role for Laurie is part of a broader strategy to bolster our governance so that we are continually able to ensure the success of our projects.”
Longenecker has a long history of working with DOE and various department facilities and industry peers. This year, the company was part of the SOC-led team that won a contract worth up to $202.9 million for protective for services for DOE’s Nevada Field Office – which is being protested by current contractor Centerra. The firm was also on the team that in August 2016 won the management and operations contract for the Nevada National Security Site, which DOE’s semiautonomous National Nuclear Security Administration quickly rescinded upon learning that the contractor had changed hands from Lockheed Martin to Leidos. That $5 billion contract ultimately went to a partnership headed by Honeywell.
