Wrap Up: CNS Seeking Vendors for Y-12 Body Armor

Consolidated Nuclear Security (CNS), the contractor that manages and operates the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tenn., is seeking expressions of interest for the replacement of body armor used at the site, according to a recent solicitation posted. Vendors must demonstrate good past performance within the last seven years on similar supply contracts with other government agencies, according to the statement of work. It also notes that the vendor will host an annual meeting with Y-12 management to showcase new products that may serve as upgrades to existing items. CNS is not yet accepting bids, but responses to the solicitation will be used to determine candidates for follow-on procurements, the announcement says.
