Don’t look for the Department of Energy to issue its final solicitation for a potential $3-billion cleanup project at the West Valley Demonstration Project in New York state prior to January, DOE said this week.
In a special notice dated Tuesday, the DOE Office of Environmental Management said the final request for proposals (RFP) for Phase 1B of remediation at the state-owned site no earlier than January. Previously, DOE said it could be out in December.
DOE released the draft RFP in August.
DOE is looking for a replacement for the current $989-cleanup contract held by a team of Jacobs and BWX Technologies, CH2M Hill-BWXT West Valley. The current contract runs through February 2025.
Jacobs recently announced plans to merge its government contracting business with Amentum and industry speculation indicates both companies have been considering bids on the next West Valley contract.
