This Week: Nuclear Waste and Weapons Events

Here are some public events related to defense- and civilian-nuclear matters that the ExchangeMonitor staff is tracking this week.

Monday:

Today at 2 p.m. Eastern Time is the deadline to register for an online proposal conference on a new technical assistance contract potentially worth $100 million at the Carlsbad Field Office in New Mexico. The session itself is set for 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Tuesday:

The Nuclear and Radiation Studies Board of the National Academies will hold a webinar on the long-term effects of radiation at 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time. Registration information is here.

 Wednesday:

Veterans Day in the United States.

 Thursday:

The Energy Communities Alliance sponsors a panel discussion on last week’s national elections at 1 p.m. Eastern Time. Registration information for the online event is here.

NEW: Via public records request, I’ve been able to confirm reporting today that a warrant has been issued for DOE deputy asst. secretary of spent fuel and waste disposition Sam Brinton for another luggage theft, this time at Las Vegas’s Harry Reid airport. (cc: @EMPublications)
