WASH. CLOSURE HANFORD PRESIDENT TO RETIRE DEC. 31

By ExchangeMonitor

Carol Johnson is set to retire as President of Washington Closure Hanford at the end of this year. Johnson has headed the URS-led River Corridor cleanup contractor for the past three years, during which WCH “sustained strong performance and numerous accomplishments,” according to a message David Pethick, General Manager for URS’ Global Management and Operations Services Group, sent to employees yesterday. “She and her team have definitely positioned WCH to accept additional scope and complete the closure project successfully while saving taxpayers more than $300 million in cleanup costs,” Pethick said. URS is set to “immediately” begin searching for a replacement for Johnson at WCH, Pethick said, adding that the process is expected to take “several weeks” to complete.
