The Army Corps of Engineers’ Alaska District issued a sources sought notice this week for an architect and engineering services indefinite delivery contract. The contract would call for architect and engineering services related to the cleanup of hazardous, toxic, and radiological wastes over a five-year period in Alaska and the Pacific Rim, the notice said. “The US Army Corps of Engineers, Alaska District, is conducting this market research to identify firms which have the capability to perform the following work,” the notice said. “The A-E firm would be required to have sufficient staff, flexibility, and capability to be available on an as-needed basis. The Corps’ HTRW program covers investigation, planning and design for cleanup of hazardous, toxic, and radiological wastes (HTRW), debris, and other environmental contaminants at various locations in Alaska and the Pacific Rim.” Responses to the notice are due by Feb. 13.
According to USACE-Alaska spokesman John Budnik, the location and contract worth are still under review. “At this time, there is no specific dollar amount associated to this notification,” Budnik said in an email. “The W911-KB-15-S-0015 sources sought notification is intended to gather market research for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Alaska District to better understand the existing capabilities of firms to perform the described work. Specific sites are an unknown at this time. However, if appropriated funds are received, the work is intended for Alaska with the potential for regions of the Pacific Rim, such as Japan.”
