Colorado-based carbon capture technology company ION Engineering on Thursday announced the appointment of Erik Meuleman as chief technology officer. Meuleman comes to the company from Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO), where he served as research team leader.
“Dr. Meuleman is a leading researcher in industrial gas separations, whose nearly two decades of professional experience have placed him at the vanguard of post combustion CO2 capture projects. Dr. Meuleman, bolstered by his expertise, research, and innovations in the field, has led teams in efforts to find environmentally sound solutions to the concerns about CO2 pollution,” Alfred Brown, ION’s founder and CEO, said in a press release.
ION is working to commercialize its novel, proprietary solvent and process technology for CO2 removal from flue gas. “Based on my experience I believe that ION’s Solvent and Process Technology provides the best available solution whether it be focused on low cost to build or cost to operate. I’m very excited to lead ION Engineering into the next decade as one of world’s leaders in PCC/CCS,” Meuleman said in the release.
