UK’S NDA REORGANIZES EXECUTIVES, CREATES SELLAFIELD DIRECTOR POSITION

By ExchangeMonitor

The U.K.’s Nuclear Decommissioning Authority is planning to eliminate its commercial director position as the Magnox competition comes to a close and create a new post for Sellafield director, WC Monitor has learned. NDA Chief Executive Officer John Clarke is reorganizing his executive team following the departure of Chief Operating Officer Mark Lesinski and the retirement of Human Resources Director Jim McLaughlin, according to an industry official. With the competition for management the Magnox and Research Reactor sites set to wrap up next year and a land sales program coming to an end, Clarke decided to eliminate the commercial director post held by Sean Balmer.

With the Sellafield site, which takes up 60 percent of the NDA’s budget, under increased scrutiny in recent months, Clarke is creating a new position of Sellafield director to focus on program delivery contract management and stakeholder relations. The NDA declined to comment yesterday on the executive changes.
