UCOR REASSIGNS SOME TOPS EMPLOYEES TO OTHER SUBCONTRACTORS

By ExchangeMonitor

Oak Ridge cleanup contractor URS CH2M Oak Ridge, LLC, has reassigned to other subcontractors about 25 workers of Transportation, Operations and Professional Services, Inc., (TOPS) a protégé firm to UCOR. “TOPS, in addition to providing waste hauling services to UCOR, also provides professional services to UCOR,” UCOR spokesman Allen Schubert said yesterday. “Their contract to provide these professional services reached its funding limit and the folks providing these services have transitioned to other contractors who are also providing professional services to UCOR.” TOPS, a woman-owned small business, was raided on Jan. 16 by federal agents, though little information has emerged as to the nature of the investigation. In 2011, UCOR awarded TOPS a sole-source contract worth approximately $14 million to provide waste transportation services.
