Less than four months after National Strategic Protective Services, LLC, took over as the Department of Energy’s new Oak Ridge protective force contractor, it’s top official is resigning. NSPS, a joint venture of Triple Canopy, Inc. and Securiguard, Inc. said last week that General Manager Greg McDowell was leaving the company for “personal reasons.” McDowell’s resignation will take effect in September, which NSPS said would allow for a smooth transition to a new general manager. Before joining NSPS, McDowell retired from Hanford’s Mission Support Alliance, a Lockheed Martin-led LLC that includes DOE protective force contractor G4S Government Solutions, in April of 2011. During 23 years at Hanford, he served as the chief of the Hanford Patrol for 17 years, spent four years as deputy chief of operations, and was also the commandant of the patrol’s training academy. “NSPS thanks Mr. McDowell for his contributions to the contract, four decades of overall service and commitment, and notes its appreciation for his security industry expertise and leadership,” NSPS said in a statement.
