This week

By ExchangeMonitor

Here are some events related to defense and civilian nuclear matters that Exchange Monitor staff are tracking this week.

May:

31: Business meeting, Senate Environment and Public Works Committee. 9:30 a.m. Eastern time, Dirksen Senate Office Building, Washington. The committee will consider: whether to recommend Jeffrey Baran for another five years as a commission on the Nuclear Regulatory Commission; whether to approve S.1111, the Accelerating Deployment of Versatile, Advanced Nuclear for Clean Energy Act of 2023. The bill would extend nuclear-industry indemnity, require a new nuclear waste report from the Department of Energy and mandate that the NRC periodically reassess how efficiently the agency grants licenses.

June:

01: Meeting: The Department of Energy’s Environmental Management Advisory Board for the Portsmouth Site in Ohio meets in public session at 6 p.m. Eastern Time at the Ohio State University, Endeavor Center, 1862 Shyville Road, Room 165, Piketon, OH 45661.
