Here are some events related to defense and civilian nuclear matters that Exchange Monitor staff are tracking this week.

03: Hearing, Senate Appropriations energy and water development subcommittee. “A Review of the Fiscal Year 2024 Budget Request for the U.S. Department of Energy, including the National Nuclear Security Administration.” Jill Hruby, administrator of the National Nuclear Security Administration, to testify. Dirksen Senate Office Building room 192, Washington. Streaming online.

03: Public meeting, Nuclear Regulatory Commission. San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors chambers, 1055 Monterey St., San Luis Obispo, Calif. The public may ask commission staff questions about the Diablo Canyon Power Plant, which Pacific Gas and Electric now plans to keep open until 2030.

4: Meeting:  The DOE’s Environmental Management Consolidated Business Center together with the Professional Services Council hold what’s known as a “Reverse Industry Day” starting at 1 p.m. Eastern Time. Fuller Lodge Art Center, 2132 Central Avenue, Los Alamos, NM 87544. Streaming online. Register by 7:00 a.m. Eastern time on Friday, May 12, 2023.

5: Quarterly earnings call. Fluor Corp. The company, a team-member at multiple Department of Energy nuclear-weapon site contractors, will discuss its financial results for the first quarter of 2024, which ended March 31 at 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time. The public may listen online or via telephone.
