27: MeetingThe technical program for the 2023 Waste Management Symposia kicks off at 10 a.m. Mountain Time at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Ariz.

27: Meeting, Brookings Institution: Russia Suspends its Participation in the New START: Arms Control and Risk Reduction in the Current Moment. Mallory steward, assistant secretary of arms control, verification and compliance at the State Department, to speak. Attend at Falk Auditorium 1775 Massachusetts Avenue N.W. Washington, D.C. 20036 or stream online.

March:

01: Meeting: The National Academies’ Nuclear and Radiation Studies Board will lead a panel discussion at the Waste Management Symposia in Phoenix about the congressionally-mandated study into supplemental waste treatment at the Hanford Site. The session is scheduled for 2:50 p.m. Mountain Time. 

02: Meeting: The Portsmouth Environmental Management Site Advisory Board meets in public session starting at 6 p.m. Eastern Time at Ohio State University, Endeavor Center, 1862 Shyville Road, Room 165, Piketon, OH 45661. For information email Eric Roberts, [email protected].

NEW: Via public records request, I’ve been able to confirm reporting today that a warrant has been issued for DOE deputy asst. secretary of spent fuel and waste disposition Sam Brinton for another luggage theft, this time at Las Vegas’s Harry Reid airport. (cc: @EMPublications)
