24: Meeting: The Department of Energy Waste Isolation Pilot Plant holds a public forum starting at 5:30 p.m. Central Time at Buffalo Thunder Resort and Casino in Santa Fe. The meeting will also be carried online. 

25: Meeting: The Secretary of Energy Advisory Board meets virtually for members of the public and in-person for board members starting at 9 a.m. Eastern Time at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, 1 Bethel Valley Rd., Oak Ridge, TN 37830.

26: Meeting: Environmental Management Cleanup Forum, Hosted by the Department of Energy’s Environmental Management Los Alamos Field Office and N3B Los Alamos. In-person: Fuller Lodge, 2131 Central Avenue, Los Alamos, N.M. Also streaming on WebEx. Sign up for the stream here.

26-28: International Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Power in the 21st Century: The International Atomic Energy Agency. Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm to speak Oct. 30, 9:30 a.m.

27-28: 2022 Carnegie International Nuclear Policy Conference. Hyatt Regency Washington On Capitol Hill, 400 New Jersey Ave NW, Washington, D.C. Proof of recent COVID-19 vaccination and booster, via third-party app, required for in-person attendance. Agenda here.

NEW: Via public records request, I’ve been able to confirm reporting today that a warrant has been issued for DOE deputy asst. secretary of spent fuel and waste disposition Sam Brinton for another luggage theft, this time at Las Vegas’s Harry Reid airport. (cc: @EMPublications)
