Here are some events related to defense and civilian matters that the Exchange Monitor staff is tracking this week:

21 – The Nuclear Regulatory Commission was scheduled to host a public meeting about its proposed decommissioning rule for nuclear power plants. Officially, “Regulatory Improvements for Production and Utilization Facilities Transitioning to Decommissioning.” Streaming online or in person at NRC headquarters in Rockville. Register online. 1:00 p.m. Eastern time to 4:00 p.m. Eastern time. 

23 The American Nuclear Society was to host a webinar titled Spent Nuclear Fuel Management: Wasting Away or Chance for Progress? Participants include an industry representative and former official from the Department of Energy’s civilian nuclear waste office. 1:00 p.m. Eastern time to 2:00 p.m. Eastern time. Register online.

23 The Hanford Advisory Board was to kick off a two-day meeting at 9 a.m. Pacific Time.

23 The West Valley Demonstration Project Citizen Task Force in New York state planned to meet on Zoom on March 23 starting at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time. To register, email [email protected].

NEW: Via public records request, I’ve been able to confirm reporting today that a warrant has been issued for DOE deputy asst. secretary of spent fuel and waste disposition Sam Brinton for another luggage theft, this time at Las Vegas’s Harry Reid airport. (cc: @EMPublications)
