Here are some events related to defense and civilian matters that the Exchange Monitor staff is tracking this week:

November

29 – Dec. 03 – Informal negotiations resume in Vienna about the Iran Nuclear Deal, from which the U.S. withdrew in 2017. Robert Malley, the U.S. special representative for Iran, will attend.

29 – Dec. 03 – The Senate will continue debate its version of the 2022 National Defense Authorization Act. A procedural vote scheduled for Monday evening would leave the chamber time to pass the bill before Friday.

30 – Hearing, U.S. District Court for South Carolina in Aiken, for Savannah River Site contractor employees seeking a preliminary injunction against Savannah River Nuclear Solutions COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

30 – Dec. 03 – American Nuclear Society Winter Meeting and Technology Expo. Hybrid. Washington Hilton, Washington, and online. Not all sessions are available online. Register here.

December

03 – The continuing resolution funding the federal government will run out after midnight. Congress must pass another stopgap budget or a permanent budget to avert a partial government shutdown before that time.
