03-05: Conference: The three-day Radwaste Summit opens with registration at 10 a.m. and the first session at 1 p.m. Eastern Time. The annual conference is at the Marriott Louisville Downtown, 280 West Jefferson, Louisville, KY 40202. 

03-07: Meeting: International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors Meeting, Vienna, Austria

05: Panel discussion, “The Role of Verification in Future Arms Control Efforts” Panel, Rayburn House Office Building, Room 2045. 12:00 p.m. Eastern time to 1:30 p.m. Eastern time.

06: Hybrid Meeting: Nuclear and Radiation Studies Board meets starting at 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time at the Keck Center of the National Academies, 500 5th St NW Washington DC 20001.

NEW: Via public records request, I’ve been able to confirm reporting today that a warrant has been issued for DOE deputy asst. secretary of spent fuel and waste disposition Sam Brinton for another luggage theft, this time at Las Vegas’s Harry Reid airport. (cc: @EMPublications)

We have finally begun emplacing defense-related transuranic (TRU) waste in Panel 8 of #WIPP.
