Here are some events related to defense and civilian nuclear matters that Exchange Monitor staff are tracking this week:

March 

06: Meeting: A hybrid meeting on cleanup priorities at the Department of Energy’s Hanford Site will be held starting at 5:30 p.m. Pacific Time at the Gallery Room of the Richland Public Library, 955 Northgate Drive, Richland, WA 99352. The session includes representatives from DOE, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Washington state Department of Ecology. A public comment period runs through April 5. 

07: Meeting: The Portsmouth Site-Specific Advisory Board meets in regular session starting at 6 p.m. Eastern Time. The session is scheduled for the Ohio State University, Endeavor Center, 1862 Shyville Road, Room 165, Piketon, Ohio 45661.

08: The short-term spending measure that funds federal agencies including the Department of Energy runs through today. Congressional leaders and the White House say they have reached compromises on full-year spending bills for DOE and other agencies.

NEW: Via public records request, I’ve been able to confirm reporting today that a warrant has been issued for DOE deputy asst. secretary of spent fuel and waste disposition Sam Brinton for another luggage theft, this time at Las Vegas’s Harry Reid airport. (cc: @EMPublications)
