The Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management plans a virtual site tour and industry day briefings today from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. for potential bidders on a new services contract for the Portsmouth Site in Ohio. The DOE issued a request for proposals for the infrastructure services contract Oct. 13.
A semi-annual permit meeting on legacy cleanup at the Los Alamos Nuclear Laboratory in New Mexico is scheduled from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. Mountain Time by the agency and cleanup contractor Newport News Nuclear BWXT Los Alamos.
National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien is set for a public talk hosted by the Washington-based Hudson Institute at 10:30 a.m. Eastern time. O’Brien is among the most senior U.S. officials participating in increasingly public nuclear arms-control negotiations with Russia. The countries are bargaining over the parameters of a one-year extension of the New START treaty.
Thursday: The Oregon Hanford Cleanup Board meets virtually at 9 a.m. Pacific Time. Hanford Site Manager Brian Vance is expected to brief the board about 2020 activity at the Department of Energy site.
