SURVEY: DOE RANKED 17th OF 23 IN BEST AGENCIES TO WORK FOR IN 2013

By ExchangeMonitor
The Department of Energy found itself in the bottom half of this year’s list of best “mid-size” federal agencies to work for, released yesterday. DOE came in 17th out of 23 agencies, according to the list, which is based largely upon data gathered by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. Among the “mid-size” agencies that ranked higher than DOE on this year’s list was the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (No. 1); the Government Accountability Office (No. 3); the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (tied for No. 4 with the Federal Trade Commission); the National Credit Union Administration (No. 9); the Government Printing Office (No. 10) and the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency (No. 16). The Department came in 7th out of 21 in terms of pay; 12th out of 21 in terms of “work-life balance”; 13th out of 21 for “effective leadership”; and 17th out of 21 for strategic management, among other categories. The full 2013 list can be found here.
