SOUTHEAST COMPACT ENTERS INTO NEGOTIATIONS FOR NEW EXEC. DIRECTOR

By ExchangeMonitor
The Southeast Compact Commission is negotiating with Ted Buckner to serve as its new Executive Director, according to a resolution issued by the Commission late last week. The resolution also authorizes an ad hoc group, made up of Chairman Michael Mobley, Vice-Chairman Debra Shults, Secretary-Treasurer Herbert Wheary, Chairman of the Policy and Planning Committee John Lanza, and Chairman of the Administrative Committee Paul Burks, to negotiate with Buckner “to determine the terms and conditions of his employment for a period that shall begin on April 1, 2014 and shall extend for a minimum of two years.” Buckner previously served as the Associate Director of the Commission, and he would replace current Executive Director Kathryn Haynes, who is retiring at the end of March.
