Karen Skelton has been named a senior adviser to Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, DOE announced this week in a press release.
Skelton comes to the Joe Biden administration from California, where she spent the last decade as the CEO and founder of Skelton Strategies, a policy and political consulting firm working on energy, climate, technology and other issues.
Skelton was previously director of strategic partnerships for then-Gov. Jerry Brown’s (D) Global Climate Action Summit, in charge of corporate commitments designed to combat climate change.
With Maria Shriver, Skelton founded and managed a series of groundbreaking reports on the transformational role of women in American life, including an Emmy-nominated documentary. Previously, Skelton served in the administration of President Bill Clinton.
