The Department of Energy nuclear cleanup procurement office said this week it intends to increase the maximum value of a small business Technical Assistance Contract at the Moab Uranium Mill Tailings site in Utah by $1.7 million.
In a Tuesday notice, the DOE Environmental Management Consolidated Business Center announced plans to increase the set-aside contract ceiling for S&K Logistics Services to $31.5 million from $29.8 million.
“This is an extension [by up to four months] of the contract solely to align it with the award of its replacement contract, currently beginning the task order solicitation and award process,” the Cincinnati-based procurement office said.
The DOE business office plans to modify the contract without open bidding, according to the notice. In September, DOE raised the S&K contract ceiling at Moab to $29.8 million from $24.3 million. At the time, DOE expected a new indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract to be issued last month.
S&K has “the appropriate background, experience, and qualifications to support the period of the extension,” according to the DOE notice. Its website says the Montana-based S&K is owned by the Salish and Kootenai Tribes. Its work at Moab includes information technology, records management, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
