The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee is scheduled to vote Wednesday morning on the nomination of James Danly to be deputy secretary of energy.
Danly, nominated by President Donald Trump on Jan. 22 to be the second-ranking person at the Department of Energy, told the committee last week if confirmed he would try to ease licensing of new infrastructure projects.
Danly is a former general counsel and commissioner for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
Also during the same Wednesday morning hearing, the Senate Energy panel is expected to vote on the nomination of Katharine MacGregor to be deputy secretary of interior.
Then on Thursday, the Senate Energy Committee is scheduled to hear testimony from two more Trump DOE nominees: Preston Wells Griffith III to be under secretary of energy as well as Dario Gil to be undersecretary of energy for science.
