Senate Energy to Consider Modernization Plans for DOE

By ExchangeMonitor

The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee has scheduled a hearing Thursday at 10 a.m. to consider modernization proposals for the Energy Department as well as the Department of Interior.

While there were few details available as of Monday afternoon, the Executive Director of DOE’s Office of Policy, Bernard McNamee, is scheduled to testify.

A couple of close watchers of the Energy Department’s Office of Environmental Management, said by phone they don’t know if the hearing will touch upon DOE cleanup office issues.

In June the Donald Trump administration issued a broad policy document for reshaping the federal government, “Delivering Government Solutions in the 21st Century: Reform Plan and Reorganization Recommendations.” Streamlining the management team at DOE’s cleanup office is one of the items mentioned in the report.
