Sandia Seeking Industry Partner for Security Analysis Software

By ExchangeMonitor

The Sandia National Laboratories is seeking a commercial partner for the development of a market-ready physical security analysis software package, according to a special notice posted last week.

The collaboration, which would be based on Sandia’s security analysis methodologies, would yield commercial software with applications that involve nuclear power plant security, material control and accounting, counterterrorism, and critical infrastructure protection, the notice said.

The software would be available for both domestic and international customers and would “not require significant involvement of the software developer or publisher to meet end-user needs,” it said.

“This tool should use industry standard data formats for terrain generation, model creation, and simulation execution,” the notice said. “Furthermore, it should have the flexibility to model a wide range of security applications.”

Interested parties should prepare an up to 15-page response about their capabilities in modeling and simulation software, whether their software solution is customizable, and the technology’s implications for national security and U.S. economic competitiveness. Responses must be emailed by July 15 to Susan Washburn at [email protected].
