Responsive Non-Destructive Testing will carry out quality inspection and testing at the United Kingdom’s low-level radioactive waste disposal facility after winning a 12-month framework contract this week.
The 18-person U.K.-based company Responsive Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), a subsidiary of Responsive Ltd., has five bases across England and deals with destructive, non-destructive and mechanical testing as well as material analysis services.
The activities will be facilitated at the U.K.’s 60-year-old Low Level Waste Repository (LLWR), the country’s only site for disposal of solid waste containing low levels of radioactivity located near Drigg in Cumbria.
“This is a major win for Responsive,” said Lee Grears, Responsive Limited CEO, in a statement. “Direct supply to a Tier 1 organisation like LLWR shows that we are able to offer services that match the demands of a high-profile organisation.”
Grears said the contract will allow the company to add to its staff.
NDT did not respond to questions about the price of the contract.
