PORTAGE WITHDRAWING PROTEST OVER PORTSMOUTH ETS CONTRACT AWARD

Portage is withdrawing its protest to the Government Accountability Office over the Department of Energy’s decision to award the new Portsmouth environmental technical services contract to Restoration Services Inc., Weapons Complex Morning Briefing has learned. The move comes after Portage learned more about DOE’s decision to award the new contract to RSI, according to industry officials. Portage was one of two companies to challenge DOE’s award decision, along with Shawnee Environmental Technical Services Alliance, LLC, whose challenge is still outstanding. The new Portsmouth environmental technical services contract, awarded to RSI in July,  is worth an estimated $43 million over five years. Services to be provided under the contract include program management; planning and integration; environmental safety and health and quality assurance; waste management; regulatory support; investment recovery; nuclear material disposition and nuclear safety; environmental restoration and regulatory compliance; D&D oversight and infrastructure support; and technical and administrative services.
