PERMA-FIX HAS DOWN THIRD QUARTER

By ExchangeMonitor
Perma-Fix Environmental Services continued its struggles in the third quarter as revenue decreased and net loss increased, according to the company’s preliminary unaudited results for the third quarter. Revenues for the quarter were $19.1 million, compared to $29.2 million in the same period in 2012, and revenue for nine months is $61.7 million, compared to $100.8 million in the same period in 2012. Net losses for the quarter came in around $568,000, compared to $472,000 in 2012, while for nine months net loss came in around $4.4 million, compared to $2.3 million in 2012.

However, Perma-Fix highlighted a positive EBITDA in its earning report. "Despite the challenging fiscal environment, we achieved an estimated $770,000 of EBITDA for the third quarter of 2013,” said Chairman and CEO Louis Centofanti. “Importantly, our backlog increased by approximately $3 million from the second quarter of 2013, as a large number of waste shipments were received late in the quarter.  Over the long-term, we remain encouraged by the outlook for the Treatment Segment; however, the fourth quarter may remain weak due to the recent government shutdown and the continued uncertainty that exists following the end of the government shutdown,” he said.
