The flood warning was in effect until 7 p.m. Central Time, according to the National Weather Service forecast. Some minor flooding was already occurring and moderate flooding was forecast around the Ohio River in Paducah, according to the Weather Service.

“While the heaviest rains are over, any additional rainfall amounts will only linger flooding issues,” the Weather Service said.

With the Ohio River expected to crest locally at about 50 feet and stay high into Thursday April 10, the city of Paducah announced Saturday it was starting floodgate installation
