David Adler, a longtime manager at the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge, Tenn., Office of Environmental Management, has taken over as director of the office’s Quality and Mission Support Division. He replaces Ed Worth, who retired.
Adler will manage a team that works on two distinct areas in cleanup of the Oak Ridge site, DOE said in a press release Tuesday. One branch manages quality assurance operations, including developing operational procedures, maintaining workforce training, and evaluating DOE and contractor personnel. The second branch focuses largely on ensuring adherence to regulatory and environmental rules, facility management, future development of the East Tennessee Technology Park, and public outreach.
“Throughout his career, David has served in a variety of technical and public interface roles,” OREM acting Manager Jay Mullis said in the release. “His blend of expertise and experience makes him uniquely suited to lead our Quality and Mission Support Division, and we look forward to the insight and contributions he will offer our leadership team.”
Adler was most recently head of the Program Support Branch at OREM. He has nearly three decades of professional experience at Oak Ridge covering work with various state and federal environmental regulators and nongovernmental environmental services providers, the release says.
