Orano USA has promoted Geoff Wilde to lead the company’s reactor decommissioning business, the U.S. arm of the French-owned nuclear services company announced this week.
Geoff Wilde, who was most recently vice president of corporate development for Paris-based Orano’s U.S. branch, is now president of Orano Decommissioning Services (DS) USA, according to a Thursday press release from the company. Wilde’s employment was effective Thursday, an Orano spokesperson told RadWaste Monitor via email.
Orano DS “provides expertise throughout the entire decommissioning process for shutdown U.S. nuclear facilities,” the release said. The company’s services include spent fuel transfers from wet to dry storage, as well as spent fuel storage and transport. Orano DS has ongoing decommissioning operations at Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station and Florida’s Crystal River Unit 3 reactor.
Wilde has been at Orano for 13 years, the release said. Prior to that, he worked in the finance offices of Ameresco, CSX World Terminals and Sea-Land Service. He holds an M.B.A. in finance from William & Mary University and a Bachelor’s in architecture from the University of Virginia.
