A Knoxville, Tenn.-based firm has landed a four-year, $4 million contract to provide business and administrative support to the Energy Department Office of Environmental Management at the Oak Ridge Site.
The award to Management Solutions LLC, a woman-owned small business, was announced Tuesday by the Environmental Management office for the Tennessee facility. The contract will be in effect from July 1, 2020, through June 30, 2024.
Management Solutions will provide various support functions and consulting to help Oak Ridge with its environmental remediation mission, according to the release. Those functions include office management, administrative services, running the mail room, and records, said a DOE spokesperson.
The management services company was founded in 2002 by entrepreneur and engineer Misty Mayes. Management Solutions has previously been contracted by the Energy Department and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, according to the firm’s website. It has also done work for DOE contractors such as Navarro, Parsons, and Pro2Serve. Management Solutions is active in the engineer and construction, healthcare, and information technology solutions industries.
“They will be a great asset to our program and play a pivotal role in our daily operations and the overall success of our program,” Oak Ridge EM Manager Jay Mullis said in the release.
The Office of Environmental Management at Oak Ridge is in charge of cleanup and risk reduction at the Y-12 National Security Complex, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and East Tennessee Technology Park, formerly known as the K-25 uranium enrichment property.
“We, at Management Solutions, are thrilled to be awarded this contract supporting OREM’s important mission and look forward to our partnership going forward,” Management Solutions President of Government Services Sherry Browder said in the press release. Browder joined the Knoxville firm six months ago after spending five years as a manager with remediation vendor URS-CH2M Oak Ridge (UCOR).
