Michael Voce will take over as the head of Department of Energy Oak Ridge security contractor National Strategic Protective Services, LLC, on Oct. 1, replacing Greg McDowell, who announced in July that he was resigning for personal reasons. McDowell’s announcement came only months after NSPS—a joint venture of Triple Canopy and Securiguard—won the Oak Ridge protective force contract. Voce previously served as the president of Protection Strategies Incorporated, which has teamed with MELE on the National Nuclear Security Administration’s technical services blanket purchase agreement. An Army veteran, he also worked for 12 years as the director of training and the director of protective force operations for Wackenhut Services at the Nevada National Security Site as well as the company’s emergency management program coordinator and protective force supervisor and trainer at the site. “Mike’s business acumen and extensive nuclear security experience combined with his effective leadership skills and deep understanding of labor relations makes him a perfect fit for this critical position,” NSPS President Ignacio Balderas said in a statement.
