North Wind Group Names Information Chief

By ExchangeMonitor

Idaho-based Energy Department contractor North Wind Group has appointed Jim Furr as its chief information officer.

Furr will remain president of subsidiary North Wind Services, the company said in a March press release. The company said it is revamping information technology to support growth, data management, and cyber security.

Furr has been with North Wind 12 years and over the past six has been president of both North Wind, Inc. and North Wind Services. His responsibilities have included operations of the business units across the continental United States and Alaska.

The position of North Wind, Inc. president will move to Jeff Scott, president of North Wind-Portage, pending approvals from the company’s board.

North Wind currently has a contract to manage transuranic waste processing at the Oak Ridge Site in Tennessee, and is the lead partner in an infrastructure services contract at the Portsmouth Site in Ohio. It also has a decontamination and demolition contract for facilities at DOE’s Energy Technology Engineering Center within the Santa Susana Field Laboratory site in California.
