North Wind appoints Driggs as new CEO

By ExchangeMonitor

Richard Driggs, most recently chief operating officer for Michael Baker International, has been appointed the new president and CEO OF Idaho Falls-based North Wind Group, the company said Monday.

Driggs is a seasoned hand in the engineering and construction industry and brings more than 30 years of experience as chief executive and chief operating officer for multinational organizations, North Wind said in the release.

Michael Baker International is a provider of engineering and consulting services for government and industry clients.

Driggs joins North Wind Nov. 13 and will work with departing CEO Christopher Leichtweis, through the end of the year, North Wind said in the press release. Leichtweis, who has been at the helm of North Wind for a decade, said in June that he planned to leave by Dec. 31.

North Wind is part of CIRI, an Alaska native corporation.

“We are excited to welcome Rich as North Wind’s new President and CEO Elect,” CIRI’s incoming president Sarah Lukin said in the press release.

North Wind is in charge of environmental remediation on DOE’s portion of the Santa Susana Field Laboratory in California and the Moab uranium tailings project in Utah. It also has an infrastructure services contract at DOE’s Portsmouth Site in Ohio.
