Effective mid-July, the National Nuclear Security Administration plans to split its two main procurement offices in Washington into three and, in the process, eliminate the Office of Acquisition and Project Management and the Office of Infrastructure and Operations, agency Administrator Jill Hruby said Monday in an email to all hands.
After the split, the duties of the two existing offices will be spread among the new Office of Partnership Services, the Office of Infrastructure and the Office of Environment, Safety, and Health, according to Hruby’s email.
“The organizational changes are meant to: (1) strategically manage our M&O partnerships for mission delivery, (2) position ourselves for success in our growing infrastructure revitalization efforts, and (3) continuously improve environment, safety, and health,” Hruby said.
Those within the agency may provide feedback about the change to the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) by contacting either Claire Dunne, the chief of staff for the Office of Infrastructure and Operations, or Emily Stanton, chief of staff for the Office of Acquisition and Project Management.
The big change to headquarters’ procurement apparatus should follow by about a month the planned retirement of Robert Raines, NNSA’s top acquisition official in Washington.
