NNSA NOMINEE KLOTZ GETS SEPT. 19 CONFIRMATION HEARING

Frank Klotz, the Obama Administration’s nominee to head up the National Nuclear Security Administration, will get his first chance to appear before the Senate next month. Klotz’s confirmation hearing before the Senate Armed Services Committee has been scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Sept. 19, and the retired Air Force lieutenant general and commander of Global Strike Command will appear before the panel along side a handful of Pentagon nominees. Also testifying at the hearing will be Secretary of the Air Force nominee Deborah Lee James, Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness nominee Jessica Garfola Wright, Principal Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence Marcel Lettre, and Kevin Ohlson, who was nominated to be a judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. The hearing will take place in Room SD-G50 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.
