NNSA NAMES NEW LOS ALAMOS CLEANUP CHIEF

By ExchangeMonitor

Pete Maggiore has been named the new Assistant Manager for Environmental Projects at the National Nuclear Security Administration’s Los Alamos Site Office. Maggiore, who last served as deputy assistant manager for environmental projects, replaces George Rael, who has been named as Assistant Manager for National Security Missions. Prior to joining the NNSA’s Los Alamos office last May, Maggiore worked for the consulting firm Edgewater Technical Associates. In addition, from July 1998 to August 2002, he served as New Mexico Environment Secretary. In Rael’s new position, he will “serve as a Contracting Officer Representative and is responsible for contractor oversight of National Security Program Integration, Project Management, and Site Stewardship areas” at Los Alamos, according to an NNSA release.  “These are ideal personnel moves for LASO,” Los Alamos Site Office Manager Kevin Smith said in the release. “George and Pete have so much to offer that we can take even more advantage of their skills in these new positions.
