The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) is preparing for its third virtual job fair of the summer, coming to a computer or connected device near you on Aug. 26.
The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern time, according to an announcement from the semiautonomous Department of Energy nuclear-weapon agency. Those interested should register online, the NNSA said.
The NNSA will have federal and contractor managers on hand to hire for both civil-service and contractor positions: more than 600 in total. The agency has contractor positions available in “all areas” of its nationwide complex, and federal positions in general engineering, management and budget, and the physical sciences, according to its announcement.
The NNSA has hosted several large job fairs since Administrator Lisa Gordon-Hagerty started her stint in the top job in 2018. She has continued to promote the events this year, even after the COVID-19 pandemic effectively ruled out another in-person gathering.
The first NNSA job fair of Gordon-Hagerty’s tenure, held in 2019 in Arlington, Va., about a mile from the Pentagon, made a splash in regional media, with the agency taking out ads on the Washington-region transit system and local radio descending on the event, along with the usual detachment of specialty trade press.
