NNSA hiring for senior acquisition, construction management positions

By ExchangeMonitor

The National Nuclear Security Administration is hiring for senior acquisition and construction management professionals with imminent application deadlines.

Through Monday, the NNSA is accepting applications for a deputy associate administrator for partnership and acquisition services in Washington. Applications for this and other NNSA positions can be submitted through the federal government’s job site, USAjobs.gov.

Last year, the NNSA split its two main procurement offices in Washington into three, one of which was the office of partnership and acquisition services: a D.C.-based overseer for the special-purpose companies formed to manage NNSA’s nationwide network of nuclear weapon design laboratories, production and test sites.

The new position entails representing the NNSA associate administrator by providing strategic leadership for administration acquisition, procurement and financial assistance. Successful applicants will oversee procurement policy development, suspension and disbarment, supply chain systems for strategic purchasing and will act as a task and delivery ombudsman., among other functions.

NNSA also planned to hire a deputy associate administrator for design and construction position, also based in Washington. Applications for this position, with an identical salary range, are due by Thursday.

The deputy associate for design and construction “develops and produces an integrated series of reporting and assessment mechanisms and tools for use by NNSA senior and operational management complex-wide to ensure real time communication of critical project performance and impacts to the overall NNSA project portfolio,” according to the job listing.

The new construction associate deputy also will guide centralization of construction management planning, execution and operations.
federally-managed and involved enterprise.

Meanwhile, the NNSA is also looking for a new manager for the Savannah River Field Office in Aiken, South Carolina. Through April 24, applicants can throw their hats in the ring to replace current manager Jason Armstrong, who will be taking over as manager for the Pantex Plant within the NNSA Production Office on May 21.
