Lisa Daley Mangi will step in as the acting chief of staff for the National Nuclear Security Administration on Aug. 31, agency administration Jill Hruby said Monday.
Daley Mangi, the current deputy general counsel for the semiautonomous Department of Energy nuclear weapons agency, will stand in for Doug Fremont, who planned to retire.
Fremont, a former nuclear security chief removed from his post in 2012 the wake of security breaches at the Y-12 National Security Complex, had been the National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) chief of staff since 2019, when William “Ike” White left the agency to run DOE’s Office of Environmental Management.
“The process of selecting the next NNSA Chief of Staff is still underway,” Jill Hruby, the NNSA administrator, wrote Monday in an email to all hands.
